I want to cook some ribs without the traditional BBQ sauce. I would love to try a honey glaze recipe or spicy rub… I dont know, just another delicious way of cooking ribs without tons of BBQ sauce.

I buy a rackof ribs, season them as you like with salt, pepper, garlic salt or whatever. Wrap the entire rack in heavy aluminum foil. Put on a grill between 350=400 degrees…for an hour, turning once. After the hour, remove the aluminum foil, ribs will be slightly browned. Brown as desired on gril and in 20-30 minutes add glaze such as honey-mustard pineapple juice with brown sugar. They need to cook about 20 minutes on each side after you put the glaze on.

Red Bull gives you a burst of energy, it’s like drinking rocket fuel for humans. It’s really bad for you, you should read up on the health impact. I think there are better ways to get an energy boost, Red Bull is abused but it does work, with caution. When I saw Delbert McClinton in concert, I remember he kept drinking it (which is bad because he’s getting older) and thought, so that’s where he gets all that energy. Of course the company is probably paying him to endorse their drinks…

I am baking oatmeal cookies for the first time and the recipe calls for “white sugar” - does it mean powered or granulated?

It means normal granulated sugar…NOT powdered sugar…..the other poster is nuts…..powdered sugar is completely different when baking…..sheesh!

Well, unless the recpie calls for “confectioners sugar” or “powdered sugar” you most definetaly will want to use the granulated. if you did use powdered sugar, the texture would be off cuz powdered sugar absorbes more liquid so you cookies would either be really dry, really tight, or crumbly which im sure is not what youre aiming for. and also, powdered sugar does not have the same mass a granules, so the measurements would be off too!

I bought it and was wondering if it’s pre cooked,it’s in one of them vacume sealed packages,i was gonna just microwave some of it and put it on a roll,it dont say anywhere on it if it’s cooked already though

Most smoked sausages are precooked to some degree.

However, when you buy smoked sausage there are two official FDA designation… The smoked sausage is either “fully cooked” or “partially cooked”.

Hillshire Kielbasa is FULLY Cooked which means it was heated to at least 160F and can be safely eaten straight out of the package.

My favorite is: Kielbasa recipe
2 peppers, chopped
1 onion, chopped
Kielbasa, chopped, cut at a slant, the more meat that is shown the better
1 C rice
28oz canned tomatoes (DO NOT DRAIN)

Stir all together.
Bake at 300-350F for 1 - 2 hours.

May need more water, check at half hour intervals.

To serve, place scoop on a plate & add a dab of butter. (the butter really makes this dish)

I’ll start with the easiest. If you have the climate to grow lots of fruit, do it. It’s fun and you get fruit that tastes very much better than most of the crap in stores. And you’re helping save the planet by reducing or removing transport costs.

Affording fruit should be easy unless you live in the Arctic. My hunch would be that if you compared the cost of apples, oranges and other non-exotics to most every other food on your shelves or in your fridge. bite-by-bite it’s way cheaper even aside from nutritional value.

Finally, your first question about eating it every day. That is certainly the recommendation made to Americans by the US Department of Agriculture which included in its 2005, “Dietary Guidelines for Americans” a “key recommendation of 2 cups of fruit daily (see link below to the Executive Summary of that report).

Will you die if you don’t have fruit? Well, we all will, fruit or not, but your odds are a lot better of an early grave if you exclude this, the food group that at least some evolutionary biologists, believe early humans depended most on.
