Hmm, Im not sure… I think I personally look better with long thick lashes. Others with a younger looking face may look better with more natural.

Virtual Villagers 3: My tree and the bee hive are empty, how do I get food quick it’s running out?

Friday, June 27th, 2008

I’ve already used the Tribal Chief thing.

Your best best is to get the alchemy lab restored and make the potion for the sharks so that you can fish. To restore the lab, gather the four pots/bowls and spear head with an adept scientist. Then, you’ll have to choose a faction in the Tech menu b/c you need level 2 of a faction to make the special herb appear that you need for the shark potion (it will be a berry plant if you choose the Magic faction and a pitcher plant if you choose Nature). Choosing the nature faction is supposed to make the food replenish fasher, but it still seemed to take forever after I purchased it. Once you have level 2 of your faction, you are ready to make the potion, so have a villager collect 2 roses and a berry if you chose the Magic faction or 2 black orchids and a pitcher plant for Nature. Once the three herbs are on the round table, drop a villager on the table to start making the potion. When it is ready (if it blows up, just try it again. lab accidents happen sometimes until you have purchased alchemy tech), drop a villager on the cauldron and a pot will appear in his hands and he will take it to the ocean. You may need to have several villagers take some for it to work.
If you don’t have enough tech to purchase level 2 faction, yet, with level 2 restoration, you can have three adept builders fix the lift under the big tree. Then, when it rains, put a villager on the lift and he will go up and knock down a piece of fruit to plant for another tree (you can have 3 trees total). It will take hours for the new tree to grow, however, so be prepared. Once you have your trees plants, each piece of fruit that is dropped that you villagers collect is worth 4 food. Not a lot, but if you are desperate…
It takes forever for the bee hive to replenish, so don’t count on it too much. I actually had to rely solely on the kids picking mushrooms for a while until I had enough tech points to get the means for more food. Fortunately, they seemed to appear more when my food was lower. Red mushrooms are better b/c they give more food than the brown ones.

Windows media player, uploading a movie from a dvd onto the computer?

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

i want to make fan videos from some of my favorite movies by sync-ing music to clips from the movie. how can i get the movie off the dvd, which i own, and upload it onto the computer in a format which wmp will accept? also does anyone know of a program which will allow me to take certain clips from the movie, if i don’t want the whole movie in chronological order for my fan vid? thanks!

http://www.magicdvdripper.com/
This is what I use, and it works pretty well.

WARNING: Don’t rip the dvd a bunch of times, you’ll end up destroying it! (This happened to me on the 3rd time that I tried to rip a dvd, it works, but is a little choppy. [The dvd will be fine if you rip it once])

………………

If you did not make the move yourself you can not preform any surgery to the movie as it is copy righted in North America. All movies have a NAST code hidden in their file format.

Opportunity Cost Calculation Question?

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Please help me with a homework question on opportunity cost:

Suppose it takes 125 hours for Japanese worker to produce a computer and 25 hours to grow a ton of wheat. Calculate the opportunity cost for a Japanese worker.

in 125hrs the worker can make 1 computer or 5 tons of wheat so 1C=5W so
the opp cost of computer is 5 wheat
and
the opp cost of 1 ton of wheat is 1/5 computer

Engines, Wheels and models, OH MY?

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Okay my Husband likes to talk about cars but I could care less and so my sisters tom boy friend has been around a lot talking about cars with him and I am a bit jealous! please help me know what to talk about with him

ask him “what are the advantages and disadvantages of an OHV engine and how does it compare to an OHC engine”

wait out his long speech and nod your head from time to time then expect incredible sex later that evening.

………

A pleaseant (IMHO) way to learn about a car a two places. The funny one is car talk (click and clack the tappet brothers) from NPR. You can learn enough to ask smart questions and then go to howstuffworks.com and find out if they know what they’re talking about.

What’s more accurate, the mirror or the camera?

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

When I look in the mirror I look pretty/average.
But everytime (and i mean EVERYTIME) I get a picture taken of me or a video I’m ugly as ****
and im not just saying that people agree with me
But why do all my friends look the same in their pics?
Am I really that ugly, or am I just REALLY unphotogenic?
=[

The mirror, as it is just a reflection (flipped around backwards) of what our eyes would see.

………..

The mirror.
Cameras flatten features and faces.
If you look at film actors in real life you see they tend to have big noses, eyes, and mouths.
If they had normal sized features they would not look right in pictures.

…………….

When you look in the mirror most people’s minds allow them to focus on the things they like most about themselves. That is not how most other people see you.

Teens in Boarding Schools

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

Why would anyone want to go to a boarding school when they expect to be taken away from home and spend most of their lives amongst their fellow students and some teachers? Parents who want to give their children a taste of what real life is outside of their ‘nests’, should consider enlisting their children to such schools. Giving them this whole, new level of learning would better make them prepared not only for college life but also their own lives when they finally set out on their own.

Boarding schools are not only meant to teach students but also to provide them with shelter and food for the duration of the term. Since these schools are mainly there for discipline in all aspects, teenagers would greatly benefit from them. A teen boarding school would help mold teenagers to become better individuals. Most people have a wrong connotation of this term as a place for troubled youth. Although this could be the case sometimes, teen boarding schools could also be a place mainly for education and further training.

For some problematic youth, there are also schools that are set up to meet their exact needs. These institutions are called boarding school for troubled youth. Such schools have psychological treatments and therapies that are prepared to meet special youth’s needs. It is also their aim that once the delinquent kids get out of their institutions, they have finally become better individuals and are ready to go out into the world and be a part of it once more.

Settle your Federal Taxes Online

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

Over the years, there have been numerous difficulties regarding the complexities and intricacies of federal tax laws and policies. The administration of federal tax laws relies on the efficiency of the Internal Revenue Service, which has recently been advocating the electronic or online filing of tax returns.

By making this online or internet service free to eligible taxpayers (which actually compose a majority of the population), the settlement of federal tax matters has been made a lot easier. Some affiliate member-companies of the Free File Alliance LLC even offer a free federal return based on your state of residence. In this way, federal tax services are made available indiscriminately to the public at large.

The reduced burden of filing federal taxes

One of the most obvious advantages of online free filing is the diminished complexities and difficulties usually faced by the taxpayer. Through the participation of the affiliate companies, software is made available to the taxpayer for the easier preparation of their returns. This minimizes the chances for mistakes or errors on your return.

And since online tax filing is more convenient than the more burdensome traditional methods, there is less hassle for both the taxpayers and the IRS. Anybody can easily access these services online by visiting the IRS website, which is the starting point for the Free File Program.

How will life change with the death of Tim Russert?

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

www.msnbc.com

Tim Russert was a man of integrity and it was always unequivocal his devotion to honesty, truth and to keep his own, political ideas to himself, never, ever will we know them, and that is the sigh of a true reporter. He shan’t live to see January 2009, but I have not a doubt in my mind that would make me think that he doesn’t know who will win; for a reporter he had great judgment.

I respect all views, but remember that the phrase ’son of GOD’ isn’t without controversy. I say this as a Muslim.

Ha, it is a free world…if only…
Don’t ‘hate’ just because of different ideas and beliefs and that is something Russet always did; Russet was an example for all of us; Open mindedness will aid us, Russet thought us that.

I use to watch meet the press even though I am not an American because I loved the skill of the reported/lawyer named Tim Russert….it’ll be hard to replace him

I just found out about it not even 15 minutes ago. Life won’t change. But this truly sucks.

He was honest and intelligent and I feel another good one is gone.
