What is the best material used for water absorbing or water containing material?

Friday, July 27th, 2007

Best material used for water absorbing or water containing are silica crystals (gel) as they are odorless, cheap, and safe. Micro porous cloth are good moisture absorbing materials too. Hessian sacking too stays wet for a long time and is sweet smelling. Polymer gels are non-toxic moisture retaining soil additives. They resemble sugar crystals when dry and act like sponges when wet. They look like small cubes of gelatin.

Is recapping a worn out tyre safer than buying a new tyre? I know it costs less but is it safe?

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

Recapping a worn out tyre is not safe if you plan on exceeding 80 mph or higher. It is not safe at all. That’s when caps generally start coming apart. Recapping is not advisable even if they still do it. There are many discount tyre dealers out there where you can find a good deal with a warranty. Also, there is peace of mind knowing the fact that the tire is new and so much safer.

It depends on who will do the job. Some recap tyres wouldn’t last long because the recapping job was not done properly. It also depends on how you use it. If it is for everyday transportation with heavy load then recapping is not a good idea. Make sure if recapping is still done with standard car tyres. If they do it, check the price difference. You probably can buy a cheap set of new tyres for the price of getting old ones re-capped. If you only need one tire then look around for used tyres.

Electric showers?

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

The electric showers have their own ‘mains’ fuse/trip switch, so it is unlikely that it will ‘frazzle’ your other electric circuits. So long as you have 30amp wiring, any electric shower will work fine and also make sure that your fuse box is rated to take the load. The best thing to do is to get an electrician to check everything. You will have no problem if the connection is proper and the cable used is right.

You can also check the rating of the circuit breaker installed for the shower. Multiply this value by 230 (mains voltage) and that will give the maximum wattage permissible. For eg: Breaker rating 40 amps; 40 x 230 = 9200 watts or 9.2 KW. So, in this case purchase a shower rated no more than 9.2 KW.

Do you think race superiority still exits?

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

Racism has been defined as a system of group privilege. It has been defined in Portraits of White Racism by David Wellman (1993) as “culturally sanctioned beliefs, which, regardless of intentions involved, defend the advantages whites have because of the subordinated position of racial minorities. Sociologists Darlene Alvarez and Maddern Noel Cazenave define racism as “…a highly organized system of ‘race’-based group privilege that operates at every level of society and is held together by a sophisticated ideology of color/’race’ supremacy.

In this modern era how can anyone be superior? You can read some books on Taoism. It says that man was once peaceful but through the growth of the ego he separated his ties with animals and each other. We have lost our way because of “superiority.”

Some of the more simple cultures are actually “superior”, but it depends on what your values are. The more separate we become from the earth, the more complex our society and the further we distance ourselves from “truth,” which seems to be everyone’s obsession. Race superiority as whole in a certain race over another is false.

Now; certain races do have a trait that is often more superior to another race but that is because of the culture, geography, ect.

Slow but not dumb?

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

You should talk to your professors and the appropriate administration as soon as possible. You may also want to be tested to explore the chances that you have a learning disability. Depending on the results, you may want to consider taking two or three college courses as opposed to four or five. The most important thing to remember is that this should not discourage you from following your goals and dreams.

Your parents can request a 504 meeting to see if you qualify for 504 plan. The 504 plan or an IEP plan is a legal document stating what your problems are and what the school is going to do about them.
The bad thing is, these type of programs in schools are corrupt and your parents will have to learn the laws and the legal process about 504 and fight the school to get you help.

You can log on to www.schwablearning.org and sign up for free to post on their ‘parent to parent’ message board. You should be able to get lots of help from it.

Is computer causing global warming?

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

Computers indirectly contribute towards global warming. They use energy, which draws electricity from power plants and increases the demand for power. That means more fuel is burned and more CO2 is released into the atmosphere. Computers emit some heat too. According to a new research office workers who leave two million computers on every night are speeding up climate change. So, along with the television you switch off the computer too.
